    Road Bikes

Road bikes have a slim frame, thin tires, and drop or flat handlebars. If you’re looking for speed, endurance and distance, and you have no desire to take on terrain beyond the tarmac, then the road bike is ideal for you.

They won’t stand up to any off road riding and are only intended for use on smoother surfaces like paved streets. If you are planning on entering triathlons, charity rides or commuting to work over tarmac then the road bike is perfect for you.

    Mountain Bikes

Mountain Bikes have grown in popularity over the past few years. These bikes have wide tires, usually with knobby treads and a solid frame, and are designed to handle the rough trails without disintegrating. Mountain bikes do not go as fast as road bikes, which is a trade-off for their durability along with a more comfortable riding position. Your riding position is more upright on the mountain bikes with straight handlebars, which is often a more comfortable choice for people.

    Hybrid Bikes

Hybrid bikes are a combination of road and mountain bikes. They include the best features of both the road and mountain bike for riding shorter trips on pavement. They have slimmer frames than mountain bikes and narrower tires but slightly raised handlebars for a comfortable upright position. They do perform better on road and are usually used for leisure or commuting. The Hybrid bike is a great choice for most city riding, and offer speed, durability and comfort.

    BMX Bikes

BMX stands for Bicycle Moto Cross. These bikes descended from the motorcycle and are used for short track racing. BMX racing is still very popular all over the world. This extremely visual sport appeals greatly to youngsters far and wide. The best thing about them is that they are simple, durable and because they come one-size-fits all, kids don’t physically outgrow them. Yes, the 6’4″ pros that race BMX ride the same size bike that your 4′ 9-year old wants!

    Folding Bikes

The Folding bike is brilliant for storing away if you are on the move. The wheels, handlebars and frame fold up and fit into a standard box that almost all modes of transport like cars, trains and buses can accept.

    Electric Bikes

Electric or Power Assist bikes have grown in popularity in recent times. If you choose to commute to work but don’t want to arrive sweaty or out of breath then the Electric bike could be right up your street. They are powered by electric motors and the amount of assistance can be controlled. They have a more hybrid look and are heavier than the standard bicycle so if the engine is turned off they are more difficult to pedal.

    Touring Bikes

Touring bikes are perfect for long distances and for carrying cargo. They have a bigger frame triangle and are structurally stronger than road bikes. They are similar in that they have the drop handlebars and more gears than a basic road bike. The lower gears are particularly useful when you’re trying to carry a load up hills. Touring bikes use the same frame sizing as road bikes.
